About Us...

our Values...

theRTproject is guided by six core beliefs. These values underpin the way we will work to deliver our vision. They are the qualities that outline the character of the company for creatives, performers with whom we work with, and audiences.

Inclusivity

We welcome everyone to be part of theRTproject experience, to hear their voice and value their opinions and inform our decisions. We provide safe spaces and environments to enable performers, theatre-makers and audiences to take risks, ask questions and seek answers.

Collaboration

theRTproject team works in collaboration with one another, from top to bottom, to create, educate, and deliver the best possible programme and experience for audiences and performers alike. Our collective is chain, "and a chain is only as strong as its weakest link”.

Creativity

We celebrate and champion imaginative thinking and believe in the creative potential of everyone. We seek to discover and nurture fresh voices by providing a platform for breakthrough directors, writers and theatre makers. We embrace vulnerability and encourage risk taking. "Ever tried. Ever failed.  No matter.  Try again.  Fail again.  Fail better."

Respect

We work with integrity and respect, are business-like and professional. We are a not-for-profit organisation and public benefit is our business. We exercise a duty of care for the performers we work with, our audiences, partners and participants. With empathy and understanding we create pathways for the performers of the future.

Innovation

With hard work, commitment and discipline we strive to create brave work and challenging performances. We embrace change and champion enterprising thinking within the cultural sector. We aim to push boundaries, think outside of ‘our’ box, stretch possibility, drive new developments and be bold in our practice.

Engagement

Our commitment to identifying talent from across society and bringing out the best in performers (regardless of socio-economic background) nurtures self-expression, cultural identity and inspires fulfilling experiences. Nurturing and preparing new talent (regardless of age, gender, cultural or sexual identity) for the rigours of drama training. We tell stories that have already been told through a new lens, for both established and new audiences. Breathing life into words, speaking to the spectators of the future, making all viewers think.
